we went to the US of A. *image heavy*

my good friend ling ling and I went to the U.S yesterday.. her and i go down fairly often, we usually spend the night in the econo lodge in bellingham and fill out a survey to get free coupons.. not this time. every single store you go into they offer you a credit card.. you say no, and they bug you about it. how is it even legal to have so many opportunities to borrow money there? no wonder they are in so much debt! I've also noticed seeing as we go down a few times a month, the prices have come up quite a bit in the states. my shampoo is $4 cheaper in canada. WHAT? something CHEAPER in CANADA? shit..

we went down to find some things for the new place, it was somewhat of a success. i mainly spent a ton of money on nothing though, like usual.

last but not least, hello canada. so happy to be home:

beefy, the sinking fish.

last year when beef dog was a pup, he could swim.. like a fish. this year, now that he's full grown, he sinks.. like a rock. we took him to the river yesterday and he bolted for the water, most dogs can swim, whatever right? Not the beef dog, not most bulldogs actually.. anyways he swam out fine, it was when he was trying to turn around and come back that he started going under. Instantly my mind switches to "mom mode", mid air into the water john grabs and says "leave him for one second, if you panic he'll panic" (never again will i be able to listen to that, but he was right). I left him for literally one second and the current took him the foot or two he needed to be able to touch. We packed beefy up that second ( not letting him know how upset we were, we didn't want to ruin swimming for him forever ). We went right up to bosleys and got him a new life jacket.





I'm fairly certain that he knows this is what keeps him afloat, he's really happy in it and prances around like he's the shit ( because he is ). when we took him up the lake he was cautious for about 30 seconds after the events of yesterday. he waited into the water and started to swim, came out and john through a stick.. let's just say, beefy LOVES to swim.

he's even diving down for sticks now, i'm so impressed with him. you could tell yesterday really freaked him out too! we're so happy beefy was able to get over it and now LOVES to be in the water.

So today john and I got out of the car, to find Lionel Richie on the pole outside. it's self explanatory, and incredibly hilarious.

First nice day in, forever?

Yesterday was the first nice day is what feels like forever. I can't believe how excited I am for spring! I'm such a winter person, I love the snow! This was a bad winter though, with only two good snowfalls (that melted in a few hours) I'm ready for it to be gone!









I must also admit, the iPhone camera apps are awesome!

I found a new app where I can blog from my iPhone.. Sorry but you will now be seeing a lot more of me, and my auto correct.

John and I bought a new place, so of course we've been shopping for furniture for me to refinish & of course some new home decor. We went to ikea tonight and I finally caved and bought that ever so popular Stockholm bowl and some peonies.. Beef did me a favor and chewed have the peony stems off. He's lucky that was my plan. The flowers ikea has are pretty hit and miss, I guess kid of like the quality of their furniture ( oops ). It's okay im forever a slave to ikea.



I can't wait to post before and after photos. We don't get possession until may 1st though!

estate sale find!

i went to the first estate sale i had ever been to. i have to admit, It was eerie and i wasn't sure how I felt about bringing a dead persons stuff home as a "treasure". The people seemed like hoarders and i wanted to take pictures but I felt bad, as I'm sure the people running the joint were family.

i somehow measled those emotions down once i found these adorable cake peda-stools at $2 each! they will house big white candles beautifully..in our new home that i have already bought the paint for. oops! they are a much nicer colour in real life. maybe i should have turned some more lights on. in our new home that i have already bought the paint for. oops!

I also found these great frames, they were a bit overpriced for the condition of one, but the guy at the sale gave them to me for $12 without me having to bargain. How do you bargain with a grieving soul anyways?!?



They both had the same picture in them, i've cleaned them up and painted them white. They look pretty good now. I think i might make a thing out of garage sales & estate sales. I'm looking for furniture to refinish for the new place.. seeing as it's almost 3x the size!
